Know what’s yours

Yesterday we had a little chat on tempo as Bollywood stars and a nice Hindi song painted on its wall catch a glimpse of ours. The posters of Indian Movie Starts in Wedding Invitations posters or posing in some classic hairstyle. Seeing Nepali public transport as a showroom of Bollywood industry makes us laugh on our shame. Don’t get me wrong because I’m not here to criticize those who adore Bollywood. By the way I also enjoy Bollywood songs and movies and myself I’m the great fan of Mr. Amir Khan. Back to the point, here is something where we have to lay our eyes on; decorating our vehicle with Indian celebrities and criticizing India for invading our boundaries, watching Hindi channels and reality shows every single minute you have a remote controller on your hands and blaming India for provoking Buddha’s birthplace is not in Nepal, and visiting theatre every weekend for Hindi cinema doesn’t leave us the option of blaming our stupid neighbors. what you think? Isn’t this a shame?

As a Nepali we certainly have something of our own, something really different than others that made this Himalayan topography as an independent nation and that something is what we called identity, dignity, honor, pride or whatsoever. And in this case I’m not confused but am damm sure that this thing is certainly not the Bollywood or our immense love for Hindi sayeri and dialogue. Time and often we make a gossip about the invasion of Kalapani, Susta, Tanakpur and many other places but we have never mentioned about what I called the cultural invasion. If this love for Indian glamour industry remains for the time being the day may come when there will be nothing left for you to differentiate with Indian. And that day I’m sure you will loose everything. I have tips for those who thinks that unless there is Himalaya there will be Nepal; don’t bother brothers because land doesn’t belongs to anybody what belongs to you is your glory and pride. The Indian subcontinent was a part of the British Empire, in early 20th century there wasn’t a country called an Israel and more than that today’s Europe was once the part of Napoleon conquest.

Finally always remember those beautiful aren’t yours, those hero’s aren’t yours. Why don’t you try to be happy with what you’ve got? And isn’t this a high time to try Mr. Rajesh Hamal?

Thanks for that tempo owner who makes me realize what’s mine and what’s not.

Unlucky Three’s

Yesterday I was trapped in one of the three awkward situations which I call as Unlucky Three’s. I was trying to catch the city bus back home. I just did that by running and there awaits the trap. Every seat was pack and I was the only guy standing. And the pairs of eyes equals the seat were staring at me. There I was standing pathetically with nowhere to hide my face. What I could do is just ignore those grumpy looks and stare out of the window. Those fifteen minutes and a call from my friend who told me that he too was trapped in his Unlucky Three’s inspired me to write this post. And now let’s find out the remaining of mine unlucky three. Walking in public with zipper on until some lady signals you to zip your pants and greeting Namaste with folding your both hand but the one who is to receive your humble Namaste fails to notice you. Then you left totally freaked out, won’t you? What more can we do than just say "Hey dude, better luck next time".

Apart from my Unlucky Three’s here are the Unlucky Three’s of my friend: an affair, a public transport and a rainfall. Every single unluck has its own story. First one, an affair: His family was asking him to marry a girl from family link but he refused her as he was having an affair for the last four month. As he proposes his girlfriend to marry him she replied I’m engaged. Second one, a public transport: It was the first time he ever travelled in a public transport and there she was the most beautiful girl who came to him asking "Can I have a seat?" And the last one, a rainfall: hadn’t it a rainy day he wouldn’t have taken a public transport instead of his own bike and she her own scotter. More than his unlucky three’s he blame one more unluck: time. Citing the example of the Brad Pitt starrer "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" he told me, had I accepted my family proposal? Had I known earlier that she was engaged? Had I taken another bus? Had there been another seat in that bus? Had it been a sunny day? And had I not been that much possessive about her?

Hey guys what would you do at times like these? Think about it because some day you may find your Unlucky Three. I found my right choice: blogging. And my friend found his: vodka.

Nobel peace prize and bombing beyond the globe

Two different news hits national and international media this weekend first one was the US President Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize and the second one was the NASA scientist bombing the surface of moon aiming for the possibility of water in its surface. The both news surprised the population around the globe. No matter how unrelated these incidents might seem to the public but the impact was same for me. Same in a sense they both lightened the flame of hope. The dream to transform the world of nuclear power and violence into the mutual society and the hope of finding the trace of life or water in moon surface are the greatest dream in the modern human society. And the news this weekend is something like a dream on its way to come true.

Once we go through the twitter, CNN, BBC, facebook or other media we can see thousands of comment posted every hours and the debate is ever growing on whether it is the right time to felicitate Obama with this prestigious award. Early stage of his tenure with so little been achieved, the decision might seem crazy too. There are people who say this award doesn’t mean for nice speeches, favoulous voice or the popularity of the person. This too seems okay. And I’m no one to judge these all. We all know Obama is a perfect human being. Apart from above queries I too have one. Can’t we felicitate a guy for bombing a hope around the globe? A hope for the limitless future.

Moon though was the object beyond the imagination, today human has achieved the unachievable. I never understood why people say sky is the limit but seeing all this I think my nerve is getting a little of it. It was human who defined the boundaries and limits and yet again it is the human who has undone the boundary kind of thing. Who says there is the limit? No there isn’t any. This is the hope the bombing beyond the globe gave to us. A hope for the limitless tomorrow. So I’m not gonna hesitate to say that the two news of the weekend were similar to me no matter how ridiculous I may sounds.

I was dogging in front of my PC trying to figure out the title for my next post in Youth Mind. A lot went through my stupid BBC’S I mean through my stupid Brain But Crazy Shit. Current affairs, problems, impressive stories, criticism and many more but nothing worked out. After an hour of thinking I decided why not write about nothing. Yes nothing, just write. No title, no pros and cons, no conclusions, no suggestions, no criticism, and more than that no more thinking. No more worries about the reactions from the readers because “this blog is something that may not meant to be read but is meant to be written” haha some crazy line I heard in Hollywood kind of thing.
These days facebook’s status is filled with the title of the Bollywood movie wake up this, wake up that. I don’t know this is the love for the movie or my friends trying to figure them out like Sid: cute, carefree, fun loving, kid like and nevertheless bindas. I don’t know why everybody wants to portrait them like a hero happy, charming, …… maybe its what we call a human nature. Last week I went for a Nepali movie hoping to write something in facebook’s status but my status remained silent about the 2 and half an hour of my stay in a theater. Maybe my human nature failed. I didn’t wish to be a hero. Today also I’m trying to figure out why?
A driver tuned FM which was playing John Denver ‘country road’ while I was returning home for the vacation. It made me excited; I started planning for my vacation and a long list was in front of me that night before I went to bed. And halfway through my vacation here is the list still in my table untouched not the single item erased. This is the result if you planned something. While writing this I played the same song and again all my memories gather around my childhood. The plan with similar long list of activities on every new session’s of school. After these many years I’m here still making plan, listing my desire. I don’t know when I will start to erase them from the list. I’m wondering will my list be done one day?
