3 Reasons Why I Like Politics

Politics: what you think? Just a simple question and answer simpler than that ”I hate politics”. Ask this question to every youth you see on the street and the above is the most likely answer you’ll get. If we start to explore the reason, the first phrase will always be the same “POLITICIAN SUCKS” and hundreds of them will follow the highest priority one and start to shoot you like a bullet from an automatic gun. Conclusion: every youth is pissed off and have a common consensus “POLITICS SUCKS”. See at least citizen have a common consensus, why don’t you find one Mr. Prime Minister?

Turn you head towards me, ask the same question and again answer will be simple but it’s “I Love Politics” this time. I know everyone will frown at me, stretching eyebrows high so that your eyeball looks twice big. Guys don’t give me that scary look coz first my heart is weak and second you look terrible, better watch yourself in the mirror if you have one by your side. Anyway let’s drop the expression part here and explore the reasons. This time I’ll give you 3. And starting from the highest priority 1) “It saves money”: You may wonder how? But don’t frown at me this time. You’ll like my reasons. See last week I finished 3 books and probably around 6 movies. Total cost (6*30+ 150+240+320) = Rs. 890. Better than that I could have tuned any Nepali news channel and could have enjoyed better than any Bollywood blockbuster. You’ll find everything Comedy(Karima Begam; the biggest star), Dialogue (Makune me tera khun piyunga), Action (YCL Vs Youth Force), Thriller (Bus accident + Fire), Drama(Tum kya jano Prachanda PM ki kursi ka kimat), Emotion(Girija Babu was grt person, we felt like we lost our own guardian), Sci-Fi(18 hrs load shedding + Cholera + Flood), Sex……. No you’ll miss this one. Better find it somewhere. At least you can save Rs. 890 per week. 2) Holiday: Though its like unwelcomed guest, might come anytime any day. But it is better than waking up at 5 in the morning and ending up in some freaky classes like Embedded, EDC, KM, DCS. 3) Time Pass: Papers are more interesting if politics is crappy. It’s full of stuffs like who said what, who killed royal family, what Maoist are up to, what Makune did in party, How much Sujata spend in her shopping etc Next day long list of reader’s comments in middle pages. It’s like some social networking site but in paper. 8 or 12 pages of bullshit scandals. If you feel like doing something out of track better grab a paper and start. You wont notice how last hour or two went. At least this is what you can do in unending power cut offs just in Rs 5.

I know this for sure, my reasons are outnumbered in front of yours, but I know I’ll enjoy as Nepali Citizen more than you. Isn’t this surprising 3 ruling hundreds? Its minority rule guys minority rule.

Stunned and Was Twaa Once Again

This is no surprise that I witness many interesting incidents in public transports like tempos and buses. The reason for this is I got few minutes more to scrutinize them than those who walk by me in the streets. No doubt many people come and go and hardly have we remembered what they were like. But sometime I pick up on special people who blow my mind. Their deeds or their words looks so out of ordinary that it left me stunned. And thus I here write about them, as my theme is Youth-in-Nepal.

It was several months ago, on my way back from TU International Cricket Ground after the match of ICC League Division Five, there were these boys around 17 who were so electrified by the win against Singapore that they were flying. They were punching one another, growling, and shouting. No word could explain their joy. One was saying “Who cares how much Nepal got smashed…. 500,….1000 runs, I don’t care, I want to see them playing with Pointing, Sachin, Murali, Pietersen, dammm I want to see us in World Cup”. His expression, his charm, his ecstasy, God, I was stunned then. I’ve been searching for the word that can explain his prolific joy up until now but I couldn’t find any. I’m out of word for him. And later that week I was stunned many times.

I was stunned to see the overwhelming crowd of thousands, I was stunned to see the performance of our player, I was stunned to see us out of final despite great performance, I was stunned to see the hasty behavior of the crowd and again I was stunned to see us in final after several hours of calculations. And finally I was stunned when we were Division Five Champion. That success made me stunned and made those boys stunned. I then realize one thing: it is our nation that we love, it is our nation that we pray for and it is our nation we like to see progressing. I was left out there at the corner of the bus with my peculiar twaa expression.

I can never shout in public place like those boys did no matter how much happy I am. What a wonderful way to express the joy, guys you got the guts. And our country got the talents. Let’s unite to make a dream come true. Let’s unite for the cause.

New Constitution: I need it

There is a psycho who lives nearby my place. I couldn’t find better word than psycho because of his deeds. He plays bhajan in his loudspeaker at 6 in the morning so not even a beast can sleep after that. I have been tortured by this nuts for last six month or so. I couldn’t sleep before midnight so I hope to get a good sleep in the morning. And this hope too is a crap until there is this holy preek in my neighbor.

I’ve been thinking of complaining but this is of no use. I’m sure he’s not going to listen me because if he had some sense he wouldn’t have done that. I’m not the only one who is suffering; there are hundreds of us and especially kids in this neighbor, God! How can they stand all the shit of Ganapati and Bhole Baba? Can anybody torment us so much early in the morning? Hell no… but who cares especially in here, in Nepal. I’ve thought of sabotaging his loud speaker but it is in the roof of 4 storied building, how can I?

It’s not only the case, there is a dog next door and this so called man’s best friend is a nightmare. It barks so loud that ground start trembling yards away. Once 2 years old niece of mine was so frightened that she had fever for two days. Every time you go out or comes in it start to bark so insanely that you wish to kill it. My homeowner tried it twice, once he sprayed an acid in his body but it was of no use because it was diluted. Once it bites his wife and he was so mad with his neighbor, he took khukuri and went to kill that son of a bitch but he couldn’t catch it. We request them to get rid of it but they won’t, it’s like their heritor. What can we do?

Time and often international media broadcast news of celebrities paying fine for partying and disturbing neighbor and when will we be able to sue these stupid neighbor of ours. I hope this new constitution will do some good to us. I need new constitution more than anything. Please leaders help me. You are the only hope for my sound sleep.
