Appolo11 & Danfe

”That's one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind” the whisper from an astronaut Nil Armstrong in July 20 1969 just before he steps on the surface of moon was a dream come true for human being. We can see people celebrate this achievement in CNN and in BBC. It’s been 40 years since and now the world is preparing to repeat the history, but in Mars. But in our part of the world, seeing people dying with no medicine from Kantipur, Avenues and ABC is painful. This historic day may not count for we people who are struggling for food and medicine but for mankind it is the day of great honor and success. These achievements encourage us to dream. Once it was the moon, now it’s the mars and in future it might be…… (dream urself).

Some of we may think how we can dream of such things if we can’t even manufacture a bicycle. And it is true in some extent. But what we need is to just dream with different perspective. We used to dream for just dreaming but today let’s dream to make it true. Always remember that people used to laugh at Da Vinci when he made the picture of flying object, people depicted Laxmi Prasad Devkota insane when he dreamt of conquering moon and nobody give a damm to Wright brothers until 17th December 1903(first successful flight). And I don’t mind if somebody laughs at me reading this. Because I believe “people who don’t have dream don’t have much”. And guess what? I’m a dreamer. If their dream can be real and why can’t ours?

It is true that Nepal has never been the place of invention and discovery. Since history it has been roaming around traditions and cultures. Despite that we had made an attempt to keep pace with the world. But now it’s high time we start to walk together not just follow them. The successful test flight of Danfe in December 7, 2008 (first successful test flight of plane made in Nepal) in Pokhara is something that we must be proud of. Thank you IOE guys. Never mind that we are 105 years 11 months and 10 days behind the schedule but some day we are gonna walk together. Today we have our Danfe and one day we can build our own Apollo11. Now we are taking off just 25 meter and who knows we can be the one who will conquer Mars. If Rajendra Bhatta can work in NASA why can’t we? So guys let’s start dreaming. Who knows may be we’re the one to repeat the sentence of Nil Armstrong in Mars.
